LMRA Cracks Down on Illegal Workers: 24 Arrested, 83 Deported in Bahrain

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) carried out 1,728 inspection visits and campaigns across Bahrain from August 17 to 23, 2025. These efforts led to the detection of 24 illegal workers and the deportation of 83 individuals during the same period.

The inspections also revealed several violations related to labor and residency laws, including regulations under the LMRA Law and Bahrain’s Residence Law. Legal action has been taken against the parties involved.

Of the total inspections, 1,715 were conducted at various commercial establishments in all governorates, while 13 joint inspection campaigns were carried out—5 in Muharraq, 4 in the Northern Governorate, and 4 in the Southern Governorate. These campaigns involved collaboration with the Ministry of Interior (including the Directorate of Nationality, Passports, and Residence), local police departments, the Civil Defence Directorate, the Social Insurance Organization, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

LMRA emphasized its ongoing coordination with government agencies to strengthen inspection campaigns across the kingdom, aiming to prevent violations that could negatively affect the labor market, economic stability, and social security.

The authority also urged the public to support government efforts in combating illegal labor practices. Citizens are encouraged to report labor market violations through LMRA’s official website www.lmra.gov.bh, the National Complaints and Suggestions System “Tawasul,” or by calling the LMRA Contact Center at 17506055.
