Bahrain’s Malayali community has come together for a major reunion overseas, with nearly one thousand people attending the annual ‘BKS Harmony 2025’ organised by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) and the Bahrain Malayali Pravasi Association.

The event, which took place in Payyambalam - a tranquil coastal suburb of Kannur city in Kerala, India - was led by BKS president P.V. Radhakrishna Pillai, highlighting the organisation’s role in uniting Bahrain-based expatriates beyond the Kingdom. The opening was marked by the participation of diplomats, cultural leaders and community representatives.

A highlight was the launch of Mulberry, the latest novel by author Benyamin, a former Bahrain expatriate. He was joined by prominent writers and cultural figures in unveiling the work. The reunion also featured music and dance, with performances that added a festive atmosphere.

Community welfare focus

Alongside cultural highlights, the gathering distributed treatment funds to beneficiaries, reflecting the expatriate community’s ongoing commitment to welfare activities.

The reunion served as both a cultural showcase and a reminder of how Bahrain’s expatriate organisations sustain their connections across borders while continuing to contribute to social causes.
