Tourism lifts Bahrain hospitality 10.3% in Q1

Bahrain’s accommodation and food services led sector growth in the first quarter of 2025, rising 10.3 per cent year on year as tourism picked up.

A tourism survey reported an 8.6 per cent increase in overnight visitors to 1.7 million and a 1.1 per cent rise in average daily spend compared with the same period last year.

Financial and insurance activities grew by 7.5 per cent, transport and storage by 5.4 per cent, and oil activities by 5.3 per cent. Non-oil activities Across the economy, non-oil activities increased by 2.2 per cent.

Some areas eased. Manufacturing fell by 0.4 per cent and “other activities” declined by 3.4 per cent. In terms of weight in the nonoil economy, accommodation and food services made up 1.9 per cent, about BD60 million.

Financial and insurance activities accounted for 17.4 per cent, manufacturing 14.4 per cent and public administration 8.4 per cent.
