A parliamentary delegation from Bahrain, led by MP Mohammed Jassim Al Alawi, Vice-Chairman of the Services Committee, along with MP Jalal Kazem Hassan and Shura Council member Redha Ibrahim Munfaredi, has concluded its participation in the 2nd Arab Forum for Scout and Guide Leaders and the 17th General Assembly of the Arab Scout Parliamentarians Union. The events took place in Salalah, Oman, from August 9 to 13, bringing together representatives from Arab parliaments and veteran scouting leaders from across the region.
During the meetings, the Bahraini delegation highlighted that the far-reaching vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has created a strong foundation for empowering Bahraini youth and expanding their role in development and decision-making. This, they noted, is reflected in Bahrain’s active presence in regional and international scouting forums.
The participation came under the directives of Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, who also chairs the parliamentary group’s executive committee. The goal was to strengthen Bahrain’s parliamentary diplomacy, support Arab cooperation, and showcase the Kingdom’s achievements in both parliamentary work and youth development.
The delegation expressed pride in joining this Arab gathering, describing it as an important platform for uniting efforts to support youth potential and promote scouting as an educational movement that instills discipline, initiative, and a sense of belonging — values that align with serious parliamentary work for the betterment of nations and communities.
The forum included discussions on the administrative and financial reports of the union for 2025, the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Arab Police Sports Federation, and proposals for future scouting activities aimed at enhancing Arab collaboration and boosting the union’s role in the Arab scouting scene.
The Bahraini delegation also attended the closing ceremony of the 2nd Arab Forum for Scout and Guide Leaders, held under the patronage of Salem bin Muslim bin Qatan, Deputy Chairman of Oman’s State Council, at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment.
