Ministry Opens Central Hub for Municipal Services in Muharraq

The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has announced that the Muharraq Municipality Customer Service Centre will officially operate as a central hub for municipal services for residents and visitors of both the Capital and Muharraq Governorates, starting Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, Eng. Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, said the move aims to make municipal services more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly. The Capital Municipality’s current service centre will continue to operate, giving the public the option to use either location.

“This step is part of our efforts to improve the quality of municipal work and expand the range of services available in one place, making procedures simpler for everyone,” Sheikh Mohammed explained.

During a visit to the new centre in Muharraq, accompanied by Eng. Khalid Ali Al Qallaf, Director General of Muharraq Municipality, the undersecretary reviewed the technical preparations, operational systems, and staff readiness to deliver high-quality services.

The centre’s strategic location, advanced technical infrastructure, and skilled staff are expected to make it a key facility in the ministry’s plan to create a single access point for municipal services. It will also feature modern amenities and accessibility features for people with disabilities and the elderly, ensuring a comfortable and private experience for visitors.

Most municipal services are now available online, reducing the need for in-person visits. Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to expanding digital platforms to meet the needs of citizens, residents, and visitors more effectively.
