Bahrain Celebrates International Youth Day Highlighting Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Future

Her Excellency Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed her pride in the significant contributions of Bahrain’s youth, emphasizing their deep awareness, high ambitions, and continuous creativity. She noted that the celebration of International Youth Day is a testament to the spirit of determination and innovation that defines Bahraini youth and underscores their crucial role in building a prosperous national future.
The event took place at “Youth City 2030” under the theme “Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future.” It was attended by His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mufiz, CEO of the Labor Fund “Tamkeen,” along with ambassadors from brotherly and friendly countries accredited to Bahrain and various official and community dignitaries.
The comprehensive celebration reflected Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering its youth. It highlighted the strong confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development and to lead across diverse sectors, thereby strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a model for investing in young talents and innovation.
The program featured numerous interactive activities and segments that showcased the vitality, talents, and creativity of Bahraini youth. It also underscored their pivotal role in promoting the national sustainability agenda and driving it forward.
In a groundbreaking initiative, the Ministry of Youth Affairs launched the Kingdom’s first-ever Youth Farmers Market. Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs and the National Initiative for Agricultural Sector Development, this platform aims to support youth-led local agricultural production and reinforce food security as a key pillar of sustainable development.
A highlight of the event was the “From Farm to Table” segment, where attendees enjoyed a tasting experience combining authentic Bahraini farm flavors with contemporary sustainability principles, symbolizing the alignment of national identity with future aspirations.
Several pioneering youth-led sustainability initiatives were also showcased, including the “Clean My Plate” and “Zero Waste & Plastic Cure” campaigns. These projects aim to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices within the community, demonstrating the youth’s understanding of their vital responsibility in shaping a balanced and conscious future.
The celebration included a presentation of “Injaz Bahrain” projects, where winners of the Young Entrepreneurs Challenge 2025 introduced innovative solutions addressing environmental and sustainable development challenges. Their work highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity thriving among Bahrain’s youth.
The event concluded with a special artistic performance titled “Youth Tone” by renowned artist Faisal Al-Ansari, whose music captured the energy, passion, and creativity of Bahrain’s young generation.
This International Youth Day celebration reaffirmed Bahrain’s dedication to nurturing its youth as key drivers of innovation and sustainable progress for the nation’s prosperous future.
