A Nepalese man, who is in police custody now for killing his compatriot, claimed that he had committed the crime as he lived in fear of getting ‘gang-raped’ by his three flat mates.

Til Kumar, 25, told the police that the three men, including the victim, had intentions of raping him. The disfigured dead body of 45-year-old Dipendra Basnet was found last week. According to latest reports, the severed genitals were placed on the victim’s chest.

Kumar reportedly called up his colleagues and confessed to his crime within an hour. “The accused reportedly showed no remorse for his actions. He said that he did the crime to be safe,” sources said.

"I did what I needed to do. Those three men want to exploit me, abuse me and rape me,” he reportedly told the police.

His roommate, who was also in police custody for a few days to help the authorities with the investigations, denied that he or any of the roommates sexually abused Kumar.

"We have never sexually abused him. We have not threatened him to do so. He made accusations against us. But he did not say what we have done against him. We had a good friendship in our group. Only he knows why he committed the crime,” his roommate said.

"I felt that he was not giving proper answers to the police. He made contradictory statements to the police. He has always been like this,” he said.

He said that Dipendra and Kumar were alone in the apartment for five hours on the day of the murder. "They were together from 5.30pm to 10.30pm. The rest of us were at work at the time. I don't know if they had an argument or a fight at the time. When I came back, I saw Dipendra covered with a blanket from head to toe. I thought he was sleeping and tried to wake him up,” he recalled.

When I took off the blanket, I saw his blood soaked body. I ran downstairs and alerted everyone. My friends came and they confirmed that Dipendra was dead. The room was neat and tidy. There were no signs of scuffle,” he said.

Meanwhile, the residents of the building, including Nepalese, Bangladeshis, Indians and Pakistanis heard no sound or scream that day. Many of them are colleagues of Dipendra and Kumar.

Dipendra died of deep wounds on his neck after Kumar slit his throat. Shortly after the murder, he uploaded a video of the dead body on his Facebook account and posted the message: "I am not a normol men howeever I tried to live my live but like this men not give me change to do strogle my life so I kill him plz help me all people for I getting juctice plz plz......"
