Bangladesh Embassy celebrates Great Victory Day

The Bangladesh Embassy in Bahrain celebrated the Great Victory Day of Bangladesh with due dignity and in a festive atmosphere at its premises yesterday morning.

The program commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bahrain, H.E. Mr. Md. Rais Hasan Sarower, ndc.

Leaders of various Bangladeshi political, social, cultural, and business organisations residing in Bahrain, officials of the Embassy, and Bangladeshi expatriates from all walks of life.

were present during the event. At the outset of the program, recitation from the Holy Qur’an was performed.

This was followed by the observance of a minute’s silence to pay deep respect to the valiant freedom fighters and martyrs who laid down their lives in the Great Liberation War.

Afterwards, messages received from Dhaka were read out to the audience.

Tributes

In his speech, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Rais Hasan paid his tributes to the national leaders who led the Liberation War, the martyrs, the brave freedom fighters, and the 200,000 women who were subjected to grave indignities, whose sacrifices and contributions led to the achievement of the red and green flag, and an independent and sovereign Bangladesh.

He also respectfully recalled the martyrs of the anti-discrimination student movement and the mass uprising of July-August 2024.

The Ambassador called upon all expatriates to remain united and work towards building a developed, prosperous, and discrimination-free modern Bangladesh.
