In a significant step toward supporting children with cancer, the Future Society for Youth’s “Smile” initiative — which provides psychosocial support to children with cancer and their families in the Kingdom of Bahrain — has officially launched the first “Smile Dokkan” stand at Lulu Hypermarket in Dana Mall.

The launch event was held in the presence of Mr. Juzer Rupawala, Director of Lulu Group Bahrain, Mr. Sabah Al Zayani, Chairman of the Future Society for Youth, and several representatives from both entities.

“Smile Dokkan” offers a range of high-quality and creatively designed products, all made in collaboration with a group of talented Bahraini youth. These items have been carefully developed to meet public expectations while ensuring a sustainable revenue stream for the initiative. All proceeds from product sales will directly support services provided to children with cancer and their families.

In addition to the stand at Dana Mall, future “Smile Dokkan” stands are planned for other Lulu Hypermarket branches and affiliated malls across the Kingdom. Customers will also have the option to purchase items through the Jahez delivery app, expanding accessibility and engagement with the initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sabah Al Zayani stated:

“The launch of the first ‘Smile Dokkan’ stand at Dana Mall marks a significant milestone in our journey to support children with cancer. It is the first in a planned series of stands across Lulu Hypermarket locations and reflects the strong public interest we received during the pilot phase of the project, which began last September.

This initiative aligns with our goals to expand support services for young patients and their families. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Lulu Hypermarket Group for their valuable cooperation, which reflects the Group’s genuine commitment to social responsibility and meaningful community engagement.”

Mr. Juzer Rupawala, Regional Director of Lulu Group Bahrain, commented:

“We are proud to collaborate with the ‘Smile’ initiative on this impactful humanitarian endeavor. At Lulu Group, we firmly believe in the importance of meaningful community engagement and remain committed to supporting initiatives that enhance the well-being of children with cancer and their families.

We will continue to offer all necessary support to ensure the sustained success of this initiative, in line with our long-standing dedication to social responsibility.”

This collaboration reflects the core mission of the Future Society for Youth, which seeks to mobilize the efforts of young volunteers to provide comprehensive support to children battling cancer. The Society also strives to improve the overall well-being of these children and their families, while promoting community-based awareness initiatives aimed at fostering greater understanding of cancer and the importance of early support.
