The University of Bahrain has introduced two new postgraduate programs for the upcoming academic year: a Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence under the College of Information Technology, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology offered by the College of Arts.
University President Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari said the new AI Master’s program is specially designed for professionals from non-IT backgrounds who are interested in applying artificial intelligence and smart systems within their own fields. “This program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on skills in AI and data analysis,” he added.
Dr. Al Ansari also explained that the PhD in Counseling Psychology aims to equip students with both academic knowledge and practical expertise in counseling supervision. The program will cover a range of areas such as family counseling, career counseling, online supervision, working with special groups like the elderly, and managing complex psychological cases, including trauma and crisis situations.
Currently, the University of Bahrain offers 49 postgraduate programs, including 33 master’s degrees, 13 doctoral programs, and 3 higher diploma courses.
Registration for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year began in early July and will remain open until August 14, 2025. Prospective students can apply online through the university’s portal at https://sis.uob.edu.bh.
