The United States welcomed His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain for an official visit to Washington from July 15 to 17, 2025. U.S. Ambassador to Bahrain, Steven C. Bondy, praised the visit as a strong show of friendship and partnership between the two countries.
During the visit, Crown Prince Salman held meetings aimed at deepening U.S.-Bahraini cooperation in areas such as security, trade, technology, energy, and cultural exchange. A key highlight was the announcement of new trade deals, reflecting growing business ties between the two nations. Gulf Air also revealed plans to launch direct flights between Bahrain and the U.S., which is expected to boost tourism and business travel.
Another major development was the U.K.'s participation in a special ceremony marking its entry into the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), alongside the U.S. and Bahrain. This agreement builds on the goals of the Abraham Accords and aims to create stronger economic and security partnerships in the Gulf region.
Ambassador Bondy said the Crown Prince’s visit showed the continued strength of U.S.-Bahraini relations and set the stage for future cooperation to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
