A Bahraini man has been sentenced to six years in prison for causing a tragic car accident that killed a husband, wife, and their son in Saar. The accident also left two other children from the same family seriously injured.

The court also ruled that the man’s driving license will be taken away for a year after he finishes his jail time, and his car will be taken by the authorities.

The accident happened on May 30, 2025, when the man was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He was speeding and driving in the wrong direction when he crashed head-on into the family’s car.

The prosecution charged him with several serious traffic violations, including:

Causing serious injuries to two children.

Driving while high and drunk, which made him lose control of the car.

Speeding more than 30% over the limit.

The court said his actions were extremely dangerous and careless, and the punishment is meant to send a message about the importance of safe and responsible driving.
