Bahrain has been experiencing typical hot summer weather over the past two days, according to a statement by an official at the Meteorology Directorate of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
This seasonal heat is due to a surface low-pressure system centered over the eastern Gulf region. While the days have been marked by dry winds, the evenings have felt more humid.
However, starting today, Tuesday, July 1, the weather is expected to shift with the arrival of northwesterly winds driven by a high-pressure system affecting the region. These winds will begin as moderate to active but are expected to strengthen on Wednesday and Thursday, possibly becoming very strong at times. The winds could stir up dust, reduce visibility, and cause rough sea conditions. Humidity levels are also forecasted to drop noticeably.
This spell of strong winds is expected to last until Saturday, July 5, 2025.
The Meteorology Directorate has advised the public to exercise caution, particularly avoiding marine activities during this period due to hazardous sea conditions.
As a reminder, the average high temperature in Bahrain for July is around 39°C, with nighttime lows averaging 31°C.
