MP Jalal Kadhem urged all Bahraini citizens currently in Iran to register their details with the Foreign Ministry and to follow official instructions to ensure their return home is handled safely and efficiently.
He said these measures reflect the government’s concern for the safety of its people in light of the current political and security climate in the region.
Swift response
The lawmaker also praised Foreign Minister, His Excellency Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, for his swift response and hands-on approach in dealing with the matter.
Kadhem expressed particular thanks to the Iraqi authorities for facilitating free overland passage for Gulf nationals, allowing them to cross Iraqi territory to return home.
He described this as a generous gesture that takes into account the humanitarian situation of those currently in Iran.
The MP also extended his gratitude to Bahrain’s ambassadors to Iraq and Kuwait, Khalid Al Mansour and Salah Al Maliki, as well as embassy staff and the relevant authorities in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for their efforts in easing the return of citizens by land.
He praised their coordination and swift response, which he said reflected genuine care for Bahraini nationals.
