Bangla Navy Ship to visit Bahrain

Bangladesh Navy Ship ‘Somudra Joy’ is expected to visit the Kingdom from May 28 to 31. Since its arrival at the Doha Port, the ship has been participating in ‘Exercise Ferocious Falcon 2015’ for the third time.
The Exercise will be held from May 10 to 26, with a total number of 22 countries participating where Soumudra Joy will be the only foreign warship as prime maritime component.
To materialize the exercise, the ship will cross around 8,000 nautical miles. While coming to Doha this ship visited Colombo port and while returning it will visit Kuwait, Bahrain and India.
Somudra Joy (F-28), obtained from US Coast Guard in 2013, is the largest Frigate of Bangladesh Navy with a length of 115.2 meter and displacement of 3399 tons. It was commissioned in Bangladesh Navy on December 23, 2013.
After 55 days of voyage, the ship will return to Bangladesh on June 16.
