28 marijuana plants seized

Twenty-eight marijuana plants were seized from a house and a suspect was arrested after police surveyed the property day and night for over a week.

The room, where the plants were grown, had air conditioning as well as lights.

Police also seized money and marijuana seeds from the house, located in the northern governorate.

“The Northern Governorate police received information that a house was being used for sale of narcotics. Police conducted 24 hour surveillance on the house for over a week. Public Prosecution was then contacted for arrest and search warrants and an entry team was formed. The early hour of our entry into the house was perfect as the suspect was asleep,” a senior officer said in a video released by Interior Ministry on its Al Amn programme. The suspect was sentenced to jail.
