A vibrant blend of activities will mark the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day today, filled with joy and high spirits.

The splendid celebrations will be a perfect balance of festive events and solemn tributes to the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, showcasing the Kingdom’s remarkable achievements since its founding.

The annual occasion commemorates the establishment of the Bahraini state as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the throne.

Joyful festivities are everywhere.

From homes and streets, to people and cars, the colours of the Bahrain national flag are seen everywhere.

Shades of red and white adorn every aspect of Bahraini life, while flags flutter from atop landmarks across the country, along with the images of HM the King and HRH Prince Salman.

Being a public holiday, National Day brings Bahrainis and expatriates together in a day of celebration and contemplation.

In fact, days before this important event, they have already adorned themselves with Bahrain flags. They share pride on this day, which is one of the golden links of the country’s glorious history.

Public places, buildings, offices, houses, schools, malls, markets, highways and streets have also been decorated with Bahrain flags as well as colourful lights and flowers. Shopping centres offer flash sales and tempting discounts.
