Over 40 employees of a company located in Sanad yesterday approached the Indian Embassy again, seeking assistance.

The employees had earlier told the embassy officials they no longer wanted to work for the company.

They stopped working for the company about two weeks back after a fight broke out in the labour camp. Eleven Indians and three Bangladeshis were seriously injured in the incident.

The fight broke out when a mobile network company representatives went to the labour camp to sell SIM cards at a cheap rate. A row over getting SIM cards turned violent and culminating in a brutal fight.

Immediately after the incident, the employees quit their jobs and sought the help of the Indian Embassy.

When they visited the embassy yesterday, they confirmed they were no longer willing to work for the current employer.

Speaking to DT News, Indian Embassy Counsellor Ram Singh said the embassy had already requested the employer to repatriate those employees who want to go back home. “We are trying our best to help them. Moreover, most of them have completed the contract period,” he said.
