‘Bahrain supports US peace efforts in Mideast region’
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, yesterday met the US National Security Adviser, John Bolton, within the framework of the minister’s official visit to the United States of America. The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the distinguished Bahraini-US relations mirror the keenness of the two countries to prioritise these relations and embody their relentless endeavours to bolster joint cooperation at all levels.
He also noted the continued efforts of the United States to establish peace and stability in the region and the world, stressing that the Kingdom of Bahrain will remain supportive of these efforts. John Bolton praised the deep-rooted friendly Bahraini-US relations and mutual keenness on activating bilateral co-operation frameworks at all levels.
He also expressed appreciation to the Kingdom for hosting the Peace to Prosperity workshop, which is a crucial step that reflects the Kingdom’s role in establishing stability and security. He stressed that the United States will continue its efforts to confront the Iranian threats in the region and its policy of intervening in the internal affairs of the region’s country, as well as supporting terrorist groups and militias and spreading chaos and violence.
He added that confronting the Iranian threat is a crucial step and a key goal to sustain peace and stability in the region, calling for the concerted efforts of the international community to achieve it. Separately, Shaikh Khalid met Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Jim Risch. The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the deep-rooted friendly relations between the Kingdom and the United States, which are based on mutual respect and trust.
The Minister also expressed delight in the distinguished level of the bilateral co-operation between the two countries at the security, defence, trade, political and economic levels. He also lauded the US efforts to establish stability and security at the regional and international levels and its efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms and those who support and fund it, as well as meet the challenges facing world countries and its keenness to activate various frameworks of international cooperation for the overall benefit.
