UK Watchdog Issues Food Safety Warning against Dubai-Style Chocolate
London: The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a warning to people with allergies to avoid consuming Dubai-style chocolate, after several products were found to be non-compliant with UK food safety standards. The popular chocolate bars, filled with ingredients like pistachio, tahini and shredded filo pastry, have been found to contain undeclared peanuts and sesame, posing a risk to consumers with allergies.
The FSA emphasised that purchasing these products would be ‘dangerous’ for those with allergies, and the agency is now reviewing sampling data from products on sale to ensure they meet food safety standards. The warning applies to several products currently available in the UK, and consumers are advised to exercise caution when purchasing these items.
