Princess Sabeeka award participation announced
New York : Participation in the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women Empowerment has been officially announced.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the 62nd Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in the presence of Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al Ansari, UN-Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka and high-level representatives of international women institutions and organisations.
Al Ansari, in her speech, welcomed the adoption of the award that carries the name of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa highlighting the international organisation’s commitment to women’s right to equality and non-discrimination.
Mlambo-Ngcuka invited government and private institutions, NGOs and individual initiatives to take part in the award for which the total prizes amount to $400,000.
