Podgorica
One person was killed and seven others injured in a blast today at a Swiss-owned weapons factory in Montenegro, police said.
The explosion, which is the third such blast at the Tara Aerospace and Defence Products factory since early 2014, occurred at 7:15 am (0515 GMT).
Police said they have opened a probe into the incident at the northern town of Mojkovac
The injured were hospitalised in the nearby town of Bijelo Polje, and their lives are not in danger, local media reported.
In the two previous blasts at the factory seven people were severely injured, and inspectors found that the rules for workers' protection had not been respected.
The factory, owned by Swiss businessman Heinrich Thomet, produces guns and rifles as well as weaponry for the police.
It also sells military equipment to clients in the European Union, the United States, Canada, and the Balkans region.
