Three Ships Hit By Unknown Projectiles In Strait Of Hormuz: UKMTO

London: A British maritime agency said Wednesday that unknown projectiles hit three ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.
According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO), a crude oil tanker, an LNG tanker, and a third vessel were ‘struck by an unknown projectile.’
The Strait of Hormuz is vital to Iran's and the United States' ongoing Middle East war. Prior to the war, the vital waterway carried around a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas.
Since the war began, Iran has limited commercial vessel movement and fired on ships it accuses of crossing without permission. The US has replied with a counter-blockade of Iranian ports, stopping Tehran from shipping oil.
