One killed, two injured as intercepted drone debris hits Taif
A Yemeni resident was killed and two others were injured after debris from a drone fell in Taif Governorate on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense said.
According to the Civil Defense spokesman, the drone was intercepted and destroyed after being launched by the Houthi militia.
The falling debris caused material damage to several buildings and vehicles in the area.
A Saudi citizen and a Pakistani resident were also injured in the incident. The Pakistani resident was reported to be in critical condition.
Civil Defense teams responded to the scene and dealt with the debris and resulting damage.
The incident comes amid continued regional security concerns involving drone attacks and interceptions targeting Saudi Arabia.
