Kuwait City: A Kuwait Court of Appeals dismissed a mother's guardianship of her two children after determining that she utilised them in social media marketing in a way that harmed their development and education.
The court granted custody to the children's father, finding that the mother's repeated involvement of the children in commercial content created fears about their health and parental responsibilities.
The ruling emphasised that custody decisions are made in the best interests of the kid, and parents must ensure that children's education, emotional well-being, and development are not compromised for financial or promotional reasons.
The issue sparked debate in Kuwait regarding children appearing in internet commercials, with legal experts noting that while social media appearances are not always regarded damaging, excessive commercial use that risks a child's rights and mental health can result in legal consequences.
