OIC Condemns Houthi Attack on Saudi Commercial Vessel in Red Sea

Organisation warns attack threatens maritime security and global food and energy supplies

The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned an attack by the Houthi terrorist militia on the Saudi commercial vessel Insilia while it was sailing in the Red Sea.

The OIC described the incident as a “blatant aggression” and a serious violation of regional and international maritime security, warning that such attacks could disrupt the movement of global food and energy supplies.

In a statement, the organisation said the assault represents a threat to international peace and security and constitutes a breach of international law principles and regulations.

The OIC called for firm international measures to prevent further violations and attacks by what it described as a terrorist militia.

The General Secretariat also expressed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security and protect its interests.
