The foreign ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt and Türkiye have issued a joint statement strongly condemning escalating settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including recent attacks targeting two mosques north of Ramallah.
The ministers highlighted assaults on the Grand Mosque in Jaljulia village and the Al-Farouq Mosque in Mazra'a al-Nubani, describing them as violations of the sanctity of religious sites and breaches of international law, international humanitarian law and relevant United Nations resolutions. They rejected the attacks outright and warned that continued violence and unilateral actions in the occupied Palestinian territories are contributing to instability, extremism and further tensions in the region.
The statement placed responsibility on Israel as the occupying power and urged the international community to take effective measures to halt the escalation, stop settler violence and ensure accountability for those responsible. The ministers also reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and international legitimacy.
