Abu Dhabi: The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have strongly condemned recent attacks by Israeli settlers on mosques in the occupied West Bank and called for international action to stop escalating violence against Palestinians.

In a joint statement, the ministers denounced attacks on the Grand Mosque in Jiljilya and Al-Farouq Mosque in Mazar’a al-Nubani, north of Ramallah, saying such incidents violate the sanctity of religious sites and breach international law.

The countries also condemned what they described as continued illegal Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, arguing that these measures fuel instability, violence and extremism while undermining peace efforts. They held Israel responsible for preventing and addressing settler violence.

The ministers urged the international community to pressure Israel to halt settlement-related violence, hold those responsible accountable and end policies they say violate international law.

They reaffirmed support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and again backed the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as part of a two-state solution.
