Melbourne: Australian police have brought charges against a third man in connection with the December 2024 arson attack on Melbourne's Adass Israel Synagogue, which is being investigated by the Victorian Joint Counter Terrorism Team.
The 20 years old man has been charged with arson, endangering life, and stealing a car. Authorities said he was one of three masked men who entered into the synagogue, poured flammable substance inside, and set it on fire while the early morning worshippers were present. The incident left one individual with minor injuries.
All three of the accused main culprits have now been identified and charged, according to police, although the investigation is still ongoing. Authorities have warned that attempts to hinder the investigation would be prosecuted and have encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
