SEOUL: North Korea possesses an estimated 80 to 120 nuclear weapons, according to South Korea's defense minister.
Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back disclosed the estimate to lawmakers during a parliamentary session.
While declining to provide a specific fixed figure, Ahn noted that South Korea typically evaluates Pyongyang's total arsenal within that broader range.
The minister's statement came just hours after US President Donald Trump publicly stated that North Korea has 57 nuclear weapons.
