Doha, Islamabad Discuss Mediation Progress

Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Shehbaz Sharif to discuss bilateral relations and ongoing regional diplomatic efforts.

During the call, both leaders reviewed cooperation between Qatar and Pakistan and explored ways to further strengthen ties across various fields. The discussion also covered recent regional developments, focusing particularly on Pakistani mediation efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and supporting stability.

The Qatari Prime Minister welcomed progress achieved in the negotiations, including reports that mediators had reached a final draft of a peace agreement. He expressed anticipation that the agreement would soon be signed by the relevant parties.

He also reaffirmed Qatar’s strong support for Pakistan’s mediation initiative, emphasizing the importance of continued engagement by all sides to create conditions conducive to a comprehensive settlement and lasting peace in the region.
