California: A teenage boy was killed and three other people were wounded after gunfire erupted in a northern California high school parking lot on Wednesday evening.

The shooting took place shortly after a graduation ceremony concluded at Fairfield High School, located approximately 50 miles northwest of San Francisco.

Fairfield Police Department officer Michelle Belyea stated during a news conference that authorities were alerted to the shooting at around 7:15 pm.

Belyea confirmed that there were four total victims of gunshot wounds, which included an 18-year-old male who was slain, alongside three surviving victims aged 11, 20, and 25

Witnesses described a scene of sudden chaos during what was supposed to be a celebratory event. Attendees reported hearing shots ring out while families were taking photographs in the school parking lot, causing crowds to scream and flee the area. Police officials stated that an active investigation is underway, though no suspect details or injury updates have been released.
