Jordan looks to German skills training system
Jordan’s Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein visited the ABB Training Centre in Berlin during their official trip to Germany, focusing on vocational education and industrial skills development, according to a statement shared during the visit.
The centre, one of Germany’s largest industrial and technical training institutions, is a key hub for applied learning, apprenticeships, and workforce development in advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors.
During the visit, the Jordanian royals were briefed on the German model of technical and vocational education and training (TVET), which integrates classroom instruction with hands-on industrial experience in partnership with the private sector.
They also reviewed training programmes designed to equip young people with practical skills aligned with labour market needs, particularly in fields such as automation, electrification, and digital technologies.
The visit highlighted opportunities for cooperation between German institutions and Jordanian education and training bodies, focusing on knowledge exchange and strengthening vocational pathways for youth in Jordan.
