Jordan, Qatar Push for Regional De-escalation
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed regional tensions and mediation efforts involving Iran and the United States during a phone call, Jordan’s foreign ministry announced.
The talks focused on strengthening cooperation between Jordan and Qatar, as well as recent developments in the region, including Pakistan’s mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran.
Safadi and Shaikh Mohammed stressed the importance of continued coordination to support diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the escalation and restoring security and stability across the region.
The two ministers also underlined the need for unified international and regional efforts to ensure the success of mediation initiatives and achieve a sustainable solution that addresses the root causes of the crisis.
They warned against renewed escalation and reaffirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving regional disputes.
