Mali: The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned a series of coordinated, heinous, and cowardly terrorist attacks targeting multiple locations across Mali. In an official press statement, the council denounced the ongoing surge of violence orchestrated by extremist factions, which has resulted in significant civilian casualties and widespread instability within the West African nation.

The powerful UN body expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims, reaffirming its solidarity with the Malian people during this security crisis. Council members highlighted the critical transnational threat of violent extremism spreading across the wider Sahel region. They collectively urged all international stakeholders to enhance security cooperation to suppress the growing insurgency.

Emphasizing accountability, the Security Council called on the transitional government of Mali to swiftly investigate these reprehensible acts. The UN underlined that perpetrators, organizers, and financial sponsors of these operations must be brought to justice under international law. They reiterated that any act of terrorism remains fundamentally criminal and unjustifiable.
