Los Angeles: A new Afghanistan war movie  will soon be produced by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for Netflix, adding to their projects under Archewell Productions.

The movie will be based on the memoir of former British Army officer Adam Jowett, "No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege," which depicts a violent battle in Afghanistan's Helmand region in 2006 in which British soldiers were under constant Taliban attack while defending the town of Musa Qala.

Netflix reports that Oscar-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman, best known for Bridge of Spies, would write the screenplay. Tracy Ryerson, the head of scripted content at Archewell, will produce the project as well.

Prince Harry, who served two tours in Afghanistan during his military service with the British Army, is likely to find personal resonance in the topic.

The Sussexes and Netflix have a multi-year production agreement that was negotiated when the couple left their royal duties in 2020, and this project represents yet another significant partnership. The collaboration has already created narrative content, lifestyle shows, and documentaries.
