Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of failing to honor its self-declared ceasefire after fresh attacks were reported along the frontline. According to Zelensky, Russian forces continued drone strikes and assaults despite Moscow’s announcement of a temporary truce linked to its Victory Day commemorations.
In a statement shared on social media, Zelensky said Russia had made “not even a token attempt” to stop the fighting. He added that Ukraine would continue responding to Russian attacks “in kind,” signaling that Kyiv had no intention of easing military pressure while strikes continued.
Ukraine’s air force also reported intercepting dozens of Russian drones overnight near frontline areas. Meanwhile, both Russia and Ukraine accused each other of violating ceasefire conditions, highlighting the deep mistrust between the two sides as the war continues with no clear breakthrough in peace efforts.
