Lavrov, Oman FM discuss de-escalation efforts

Oman and Russia have called for efforts to reduce regional tensions and advance political solutions to ongoing crises, according to Oman’s Foreign Ministry.
In a phone call, Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the latest developments in the regional situation, the ministry said.
Both sides exchanged views on ways to contain current tensions and emphasised the importance of pursuing political and consensual approaches to address regional issues and conflicts.
The two ministers stressed that diplomatic efforts are essential to strengthening security and stability, and to avoiding further escalation that could affect the region and the wider world.
