Washington DC: The United States has approved military sales worth over $8.6 billion to key Middle Eastern allies, including Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

This significant move comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and its regional adversaries.

To expedite the process, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio invoked emergency powers to bypass the standard congressional review, citing urgent security needs.

The package includes $4 billion in Patriot missile defense support for Qatar and a $2.5 billion integrated battle command system for Kuwait. Meanwhile, Israel and the UAE are slated to receive Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems (APKWS) to enhance their strike capabilities.

These sales aim to strengthen regional deterrence at a time when the conflict is placing immense pressure on global weapons stockpiles.
