Qatar Pledges Continued Support for Lebanon

Qatar’s ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, met with Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi to discuss bilateral cooperation between Doha and Beirut.
The meeting took place in Bkerke, the seat of the Maronite Church.
According to Lebanon’s staterun National News Agency, the Qatari envoy reaffirmed his country’s longstanding support for Lebanon, saying Doha “has historically been and continues to be the largest supporter of Lebanon.”
Sheikh Saud noted that Qatar is currently implementing several projects across the country and expressed hope for stability, adding that he wishes to see peace restored and normal life return to Lebanon.
