Dubai: Several places of worship across Dubai have announced temporary closures and the suspension of in-person services following official directives citing safety and security concerns.
The Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara and the Hindu Temple confirmed on Friday that they will remain closed until further notice.
The move comes as multiple churches across the emirate also suspended in-person services starting April 3 under similar guidance from authorities aimed at ensuring public safety and community well-being.
Parishes across denominations have shifted to online worship, urging residents to avoid visiting church premises during this period.
At St. Mary's Catholic Church, officials confirmed that the church will be closed to visitors from April 3. The scheduled Good Friday service will instead be streamed live via the church’s YouTube channel, allowing worshippers to participate remotely.
Authorities have not specified a timeline for reopening, with institutions expected to follow further official updates.
