Military chief says operations focus on crippling Iran’s defense and naval capabilities

The United States has carried out more than 11,000 strikes on Iranian-linked targets over the past 30 days, according to Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Speaking on the ongoing military campaign, Caine said U.S. forces are continuing to target critical elements of Iran’s defense infrastructure, including manufacturing hubs, component storage facilities, and research centers.

He added that the strikes are part of a broader effort to dismantle Iran’s defense industrial base and limit its ability to rebuild combat capabilities.

“We’ve taken out more than 150 ships, including all Jamaran-class frigates within their navy,” Caine said, highlighting the scale of maritime losses inflicted during the operation.

According to the U.S. military, the campaign has also targeted factories, warehouses, and nuclear weapons research and development facilities, along with the infrastructure required to sustain military operations.

Officials say the strikes are aimed at significantly degrading Iran’s ability to produce and deploy advanced weaponry, as the conflict continues to reshape the region’s security landscape.
