Saudi, Jordan, Qatar Leaders Hold Trilateral Talks in Jeddah
Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, hosted a high-level trilateral meeting in Jeddah on Monday with King Abdullah II of Jordan and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the leaders discussed the latest regional developments and the repercussions of ongoing military escalation across the region. The talks focused on the risks posed to international maritime navigation, global energy supply security, and the broader impact on the global economy.
The three leaders also emphasized the importance of coordinating joint efforts to enhance regional security and stability amid growing tensions.
During the meeting, the leaders strongly condemned continued Iranian attacks targeting Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, including strikes on vital and civilian infrastructure. They described these actions as a dangerous escalation that threatens the region’s overall security and stability.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from all three nations. Representing Saudi Arabia were Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region; National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed Al Aiban; General Intelligence President Khalid Al Humaidan; and Dr. Bandar Al Rasheed, Secretary to the Crown Prince.
From Jordan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti, and Royal Court Director Alaa Batayneh were present.
Qatar was represented by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Interior Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Amiri Diwan Chief Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, along with other senior officials.
