HM King Hamad, UK Defence Chief Discuss Regional Security
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received UK Defence Secretary John Healey during his official visit to the Kingdom on Monday.
During the meeting, His Majesty welcomed the British Defence Secretary and reviewed the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, along with various areas of cooperation and joint coordination.
King Hamad expressed pride in the historic ties and close strategic partnership shared by both nations, highlighting decades of alliance, cooperation, and mutual coordination—particularly in military and defence sectors. His Majesty reaffirmed the shared commitment to further strengthen and expand these relations across all levels to serve the common interests of both countries and their peoples.
His Majesty also commended the United Kingdom’s vital role on the international stage and its continued contributions to promoting security, stability, and peace across the region and globally.
The discussions also covered the latest regional and international developments, as well as key issues of mutual interest.
For his part, Defence Secretary John Healey expressed his appreciation to His Majesty for his leadership in reinforcing the distinguished partnership and deep-rooted friendship between the two nations, as well as for advancing military and defence cooperation.
