Saudi Crown Prince, Jordan King, and Qatar Emir Hold Key Talks on Regional Security in Jeddah
A high-level trilateral meeting was held today in Jeddah, bringing together Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia; King Abdullah II of Jordan; and Qatar's Emir Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During the meeting, the leaders reviewed the latest regional developments, focusing on the ongoing military escalation and its broader implications. Discussions addressed the risks posed to international maritime navigation, the security of global energy supplies, and the potential impact on the global economy. The three sides also emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and joint efforts to enhance regional security and stability.
The leaders stressed that the continued attacks attributed to Iran against Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan, particularly those targeting vital and civilian facilities, represent a serious escalation that threatens the stability and security of the region.
Several senior officials attended the meeting. From the Saudi side, attendees included Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Minister of State and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, General Intelligence President Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan, and Dr. Bandar bin Obaid Al-Rasheed, Secretary to the Crown Prince.
Representing Jordan were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti, and Director of the King’s Office Alaa Batayneh.
From Qatar, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and other officials were also present.
