Qatar Arrests 313 for Spreading Misinformation Online

Doha: The Ministry of Interior in Qatar announced that its Economic and Cybercrime Control Department has arrested 313 individuals of various nationalities for filming, sharing videos, and spreading misinformation and rumors that could inflame public opinion, in violation of official regulations.
According to a statement released by the Ministry and reported by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), legal and administrative measures have been taken against those involved. The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to monitor and address the misuse of social media.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of refraining from filming or sharing content related to current events and urged the public to rely solely on official, verified sources for information. Authorities confirmed they will continue to take strict measures against anyone found violating these rules.
