Kuwait and Saudi Arabia Step Up Defence Collaboration as Visit Gets Underway

Riyadh: Kuwait’s Minister of Defence, Shaikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, set out on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, accompanied by a senior delegation, state media reported. The trip underscores ongoing efforts by both Gulf neighbours to deepen cooperation in the defence sector and enhance mutual strategic coordination.
During his stay in Riyadh, Shaikh Abdullah held bilateral talks with Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, reviewing the longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries and exploring ways to bolster joint defence collaboration. Discussions also touched on recent regional developments and areas of shared interest.
Officials on both sides highlighted the importance of continued engagement between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, reflecting their commitment to regional stability and security. The visit takes place against a backdrop of active coordination among Gulf states, and follows a series of diplomatic and military exchanges between the two governments in recent months.
The Kuwaiti defence minister’s meetings are expected to further reinforce military cooperation frameworks, as well as discuss future initiatives that support the defence priorities of both nations.
