155 Labour law violators arrested
The Oman weekly report of the Ministry of Manpower’s joint inspection has said that 164 workers were found violating the Labour Law from December 20 to 26.
These included 135 commercial workers, ten farm workers and 19 housemaids and their equivalents.
The inspection teams caught 155 workers including 131 absconding workers, 14 retrenched workers and ten with other violations.
Muscat governorate had the highest number of violators at 71, followed by 37 in North Batinah. On the other hand, 277 workers were deported for violating various provisions of the Labour Law.
