Saudi Arabia Chairs 69th Session of UN Commission on the Status of Women

Saudi Arabia has assumed the chairmanship of the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), which began on Monday and will run until March 21.
The Kingdom is represented by its Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, along with a high-ranking delegation led by Dr. Maimouna Al-Khalil, Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council.
As chair, Saudi Arabia will focus on promoting international collaboration to strengthen policies for women's empowerment and tackle challenges faced by women worldwide. The Kingdom will also present its successful initiatives and experiences in advancing the role of Saudi women as integral contributors to national development.
Dr. Al-Khalil emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s leadership of this session highlights the significant progress in empowering Saudi women, noting that the leadership’s unwavering support has enabled women to succeed across all sectors.
This milestone underscores Saudi Arabia's leadership in promoting women's rights at both the regional and international levels, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
