St Christopher's School Celebrates World Peace Day

St Christopher's School marked World Peace Day on Monday, 21 September, uniting students and staff under this year's theme, "Invest in Peace – For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day."

To mark the occasion, every tutor group collaborated to create a unique "Peace Canvas." Each student added their fingerprint to the canvas, representing a personal pledge toward fostering peace. Together, the colourful artworks reflected the collective hopes and shared vision of the entire school community.

The day's formal proceedings featured two student poets, Leo (Year 11) and Khadija (Year 10), who recited their original peace poems over the school tannoy system. Following the recitations, they led the entire school in observing a solemn minute of silence in reflection.

Highlighting the power of sports in bringing people together, staff members and Sixth Form students later participated in an energetic Peace Day volleyball match, showcasing camaraderie and teamwork.

School organizers emphasized that the day carried a simple yet vital message: every positive word serves as an investment; in harmony, and every act of kindness helps pay it forward. The event served as a meaningful reminder that constructing a more peaceful world begins with small, daily choices within classrooms and corridors.
